Dry shampoo is an absolute savior for those of us with the oilest of scalps. For me, it is a necessity for day 3 after a shower and I’ve made a few mistakes when it comes to application. Luckily I have a new trick up my sleeve to NEVER walk out of the house with that ugly grey/white shadow on my scalp again.
Simply put it on before you go to bed. Yup, it’s that easy. Spray your dry shampoo straight into your roots (I do it on my middle part and part the left and right side of my head and apply there) and let it get white but don’t touch it. Just go to bed and when tossing around in your sleep the dry shampoo will absorb into the scalp and soak up the oil. When you wake up maybe just massage it a bit, style your hair, and you’re good to go!
Dry shampoo works best the longer it’s allowed to just absorb. That’s why when you use it in the morning and leave with that greyish shadow and come back at the end of the day it looks even better. With this trick you just saved yourself the time by doing it the night before!
As for my dry shampoo of choice, there are 3 that I use and can’t decide which I like best. The Hask Charcoal Dry Shampoo ($4.29). is my newest favorite. Hask in general is a brand I trust and use for all my hair products because of its clean ingredients and this dry shampoo is not only recommended by me but highly rated online as well.
Dove Dry Shampoo ($5.99) is another favorite of mine. I feel like this one has the most voluminizing power, which I’m always here for!
Lastly is the Batiste Hint of Color Divine Dark Dry Shampoo ($7.29). I love this as well but I don’t have it right now because of the insane amount of dry shampoo I hoarded in my bathroom cabinet. This though is great for on the go if you have dark brown hair because you won’t get that ashy grey shadow on the place you sprayed it. It’s definitely my go to when I forgot to apply my dry shampoo the night before.
Comment below your favorite dry shampoo. Hope this helps!
