It may not be common knowledge, but single use cotton rounds are not so great for the environment. Shocking, right? Whether it’s to take off your makeup or apply toner, cotton rounds are used once, thrown away, and keep piling up in landfills. Not only that, but the pesticides used to grow the cotton are destroying the soil and is even being found in the water of the communities that the cotton is grown in.
The best thing you can do is stop using them altogether and switch to reusable cotton rounds. I found some on Amazon for $10 regular price and $7.99 for Prime members and I can honestly say, this might be one of my favorite purchases EVER!
These ones specifically come in a pack of 16 and are made of bamboo. The best part is that they’re organic, have no dyes or harsh chemicals. First thing I noticed is that they’re a HUGE and super super soft. Each cotton round has two sides, one that is super buttery soft and another that is a bit rougher. Also, the product comes with a laundry bag to put all your cotton rounds into, then you can throw in the wash.
It’s honestly a win-win situation, you stop spending money on cotton rounds every time you run out and the planet get less cotton rounds in it’s landfills.
