Welcome to my blog. Allow me to introduce myself…
My name is Maria, I am a fashion student at Kent State majoring in Fashion Merchandising with a double minor in Marketing and Fashion Media. I was born in Brooklyn, New York (Yankees all the way) but I moved to Akron, Ohio when I was around 10. My parents are from Lebanon, a small country in the Middle East with a big appetite. My culture means a lot to me and you’ll probably notice that.
Let’s make this quick…I’m a lipgloss loving, hoop earring wearing, fashion fanatic, city meets country, Middle Eastern, sneaker loving, magazine reading kind of girl.
I started this blog because I wanted an outlet to let my thoughts and ideas be seen and inspire people with them. I’ve always loved expressing myself creatively, whether it was with art (AP art student over here) or with music. I’ve had a journal ever since I was around eight years old and didn’t even realize that writing is such a major part of my life until recently.
Fashion is (obviously) one of those things that makes me who I am. I always referred to it as my form of armor and (in my opinion) the form of expression you get from fashion is like no other. You can literally wear your personality! I am absolutely addicted to every inch of the fashion industry.
Another major part of my life is beauty. Skincare is EVERYTHING to me and even researching it for hours makes me jump up and down like a kid with a new toy. Also, makeup (obviously a major part of the beauty industry) is a huge part of my life. It’s literally art on your face! Every morning I go to sleep excited to do my skincare routine and put my makeup on the next day.
Here’s the thing. I don’t want this to be the typical fashion blog, because let’s be honest, it’s boring to read the same things. I am by no means claiming to be an expert. I really just want to talk about experiences and things I learn. I really believe being a student is a permanent role in life and if you’re not learning and growing, you’ll never get anywhere.
My objective is to write about things I learn, discover, do, and love. I’m here to share and I really want you to share your thoughts too. I hope you enjoy what you see and I’m hoping to make this better as I grow. Thanks for joining me!
