Different Ways You Can Help Beirut, Lebanon…Even With Zero Dollars

Unless you’ve been living under a rock this past week, you would know that Beirut, Lebanon has suffered a MAJOR catastrophe. A fireworks factory with over 2,700 tons of Ammonium Nitrate blew up on the port of Beirut, Lebanon leaving hundreds of people dead and 300,000 homeless. The city is in ruins and the government is corrupt and neglecting the people (no surprise, they’ve been doing that for years), so what can you do?

Below I have a list of ways you can help Beirut, Lebanon try to recover from this deadly situation. Whether you have a dollar or not there are still ways to help.

IMPORTANT: ONLY DONATE TO NON-GOVERNMENTAL ORGANIZATIONS (NGO). THE LEBANESE GOVERNMENT TAKES ANY MONEY SENT TO THEM FOR AID.

“Clicks Help Lebanon” is an initiative by the Antoine Nehme Foundation on arab.org which supports the Lebanese Food Bank. The second link is to support the children. Literally just click, and they will donate.

Watch This Video

You can either watch the full 4 hour video or do what most people would do and just have the video play in silent. All the money made from the video will be sent to a LaunchGood fundraiser to help Beirut. The owner of the channel even shows video proof of every donation. Plus, you can watch other videos on the channel to send money to other places in need such as Yemen and Palestine.

Donate To These Non Governmental Organization

Keep in Mind that the currency in Lebanon is not equal to the US dollar. One U.S dollar holds more value in Lebanon and still makes a difference, especially now after the economic collapse. (Don’t check Google, it’s not accurate. I’m getting this information from Lebanese news channels and from citizens in Lebanon)
  • United Nation World Food Programme: Provides food to homeless victims of the Beirut Blast.
  • Humanity and Inclusion: Providing physical therapists, psychologists and social workers for post surgical therapy.
  • Impact Lebanon: Distributes money that is raised among LOCAL NGO’s that have been vetted and examined for how suitable they are to receive funds by the Impact Lebanon team.
  • Rebuild Beirut: Helps to rebuild the homes that were destroyed in the blast.

Zuhair Murad has designed these T-shirts with the phrase “Rise from the Ashes” with a phoenix, a symbol of Beirut’s constant rise from destruction. The design also comes in a tank top style, long sleeve, and hoodie. All the styles are $25.99 except for the hoodie ($39.99) and long sleeve ($34.99). It comes in black and white, and 100% of the net profits go to Lebanon via Offrejoi, a Lebanese NGO.
