Has Anyone Else Noticed This Sock Style Trend?

If you wondering about whether or not this has to do with the design or color of your socks, think again. I’ve noticed that what’s most trendy is the LENGTH of your socks. Gone are the days of no-show socks. Now, it’s all about visible or crew length socks. If you think I’m crazy, here’s some proof.

And no, this is absolutely nothing new, and to be frank, started with male celebrity figures, for example…

However, besides that it also has to do with the obsession about going back to the old days. Nostalgia is hitting society pretty hard and it’s reflecting in our fashion today. In terms of fashion, the 80’s have made a HUGE comeback along with influences from other decades and that is a major factor in this sock style trend.

In case you didn’t know, the 80’s was the first introduction to any type of athleisure and therefore leggings and sweat sets were getting very popular. Today, athleisure is getting popularized more than ever and according to Forbes “The global athleisure market will rise 9% this year, outpacing the total clothing and footwear market beyond 2023.”

Now I’m not saying you need to go follow this trend, but I’m just giving you a heads up. I personally really like it. Although I’m not paying for some Nike socks, the Hanes men’s crew length socks I picked up from TJ Maxx for $5.99 definitely get the job done (and I kind of like them better because they can be scrunched). So, do what you will with that info.

And of course, some inspiration
